Kids Matter

Kids Matter is a unique group for children aged 6-11 years and their parents. The kids group teaches life- skills through the use of discussion, games & art. The Parent Group provides parents with the opportunity to share experiences and fill their toolbox with skills to support their children’s growth. The two group facilitators work together to create a personalized group and an opportunity to learn about and understand your child while they learn more about you. Each 4 week session deals with a different area. Sign up for 1 session or all 3!

Finding Allies: Designed to teach all kids how to deal with the common friendship snags that appear on the playground such as exclusion, rejection, competition and disappointment. Kids are shown how to create stable and strong friendships.

Finding Courage: Designed to assist kids in finding confidence, empathy, a positive self-image and a sense of personal control over their thoughts and feelings.

Finding Family: Designed to improve understanding and respect between children and their parents. Positive conflict resolution, cooperation and collaborative problem solving are discussed.
