Home Visitation & Outreach
At Family Services of Central Alberta, we believe that in the first five years of life, children learn more and at a faster pace than any other time in their life. Parents help shape their child's future through the kinds of experiences they provide. Because babies are not born with instructions and being a parent can be hard work, we're here to help.
In the Building Incredible Babies Program, Outreach Workers assist expectant Parents to make healthy choices for themselves and their baby. This is a voluntary program where prenatal support, vitamin and food supplements, nutrition counseling and linkages to community resources are offered in-home by Outreach Staff.
The Infant Preschool Wellness Program supports families with babies, toddlers and/or preschoolers who are facing complex challenges. This is a voluntary program that helps parents provide a safe and supportive home environment and gain a better understanding of their child's development.
Designed to assist families with new babies. Families who meet the criteria for the program receive services at no cost.
The Road Home Project is an 18 month pilot project that provides Central Alberta families who have at least one child 0 - 6 years of age with outreach support and education while on waitlists for housing, or to ensure that current housing can be maintained.
